SUMMARY //
Dr Jan Haizmann is a German-qualified lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in the energy wholesale and commodity markets. Dr Haizmann is an independent consultant in the energy trading industry and has extensive project experience in the commodities market. Before setting up Correggio Consulting in 2005, Dr Haizmann worked for several years at Graf Von Westphalen, a large German corporate law firm. After entering the energy trading market in 1999, he was at Enron Europe, TXU Energy Trading and Glencore Energy covering legal, regulatory and commercial functions.
In addition to working for clients at Correggio Consulting, Dr Haizmann holds several executive functions in the European Federation of Energy Trading (EFET). He is a member the EFET Board of Directors and has managed the Legal Committee as Chairman since 2005. Following client demand, Dr Haizmann launched the Correggio Regulatory Report in 2009, a monthly regulatory monitoring service which has become widely read in the European energy industry. In 2017, Dr Haizmann launched CorreggioNet, an innovative system to monitor regulatory compliance for physical traders in the EU markets. CorreggioNet provides for a qualified monitoring for trading companies active in multiple trading locations through market-status defined client classification. The system is innovative as it is web-based and produces alerts for reporting duties on programmed reporting dates.
In his consulting practice, Mr. Haizmann has gained experience in commercial arbitration, and helped resolve complex commercial trading disputes over several years. He has acted as arbitrator, mediator, and market expert in power and gas disputes. He has assisted clients with their standard commodity trading documentation, improved risk management through designing risk strategies and REMIT/MAR policies. He contributed to gas hub developments and co-ordinated industry groups. This documentation has become the market standard in multiple countries. Recently his focus lies in supporting companies with regulatory compliance and advising on new business strategies regarding financial or transparency regulation applicable to energy trading in Europe. In 2014, Mr. Haizmann was appointed key expert in technical assistance projects leading to the establishment of as Turkish gas market, designing the blueprint for the Turkish gas exchange and provided training for BOTAS and the Turkish Ministry of Energy. Within a technical assistance project financed by the World Bank and the EU, Correggio Consulting helped developing a blueprint for the Botas capacity platform. In 2015 Jan was tasked by the EU Commission to assist in the process leading to electricity settlement rules in Cyprus. In 2018, Jan was appointed as a lead expert by the European Commission to assist the National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC) in harmonising national legislation allowing the creation of modern financial and commodity product trading in Ukraine.

Overall project management for market-set up for Trafigura as a complete service for 18 jurisdictions in continental Europe and the UK. Assistance in market entry strategy for new natural gas desk and ancillary operational support services (contractual arrangements, permitting and registration processes).
UKRAINIAN GAS PRODUCER AND SUPPLIER 2016/2017
European Gas Marketing Strategy with the delivery of a complete business plan and corporate risk analysis for a multi-billion gas procurement and supply from scratch. The project involved
complete overview of potential risks and upsides of a commodity trading business and contacts with executive board members and the international financial community.
